Not the best version of City Ghosts I have heard of this era; on the bootleg version of this same gig it's mistakenly referred to as City Ghosts part 1 and part 2 I believe - it is all City Ghosts - the pause in the middle and resuming of the main theme was entirely intentional, but illustrates well the use of the backing ambiance tracks (also useful for changing personnel and settings on instruments in between numbers), triggered by the sound engineer Pat White, used throughout the performance. This new master is vastly superior to previous reisssues. It is an essential upgrade for anyone into the cassette albums, and a fine introduction for anyone who isn't yet. The energy of DIY discovery is palpable. Corey Goldberg
